Title: Using best practice to create a pathway to improve management of irritable bowel syndrome: aiming for timely diagnosis, effective treatment and equitable care

Synopsis:

We’ve been able to demonstrate in Somerset, that incorporating support from a dietitian in the multidisciplinary management pathway for irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), can improve patient’s quality of life, as well as reduce unnecessary and expensive input from hospital gastroenterology departments.
